Edits stay pending until you’re ready. Review the SQL before applying, then undo supported row changes if you need to retrace your steps.

See how row undo works
  1. Edit at your pace.

Change cells, add rows, or mark rows for deletion. Your edits stay staged until Apply.

  2. Read it before you run it.

Check the generated SQL and choose whether to record the change for undo.

  3. Revisit a saved change.

Preview the latest recorded batch. Undo checks for conflicting row or schema changes before restoring it.

Saved row undo: PostgreSQL & SQLite, on Mac & Windows. Up to 50 applied batches per connection, until disconnect. Requires auto-commit and a supported table; SQL scripts, imports, and schema changes aren’t recorded. Full limits

Answers about databases, platforms, and privacy.

All questions ↗
Which databases can I open?

PostgreSQL, Supabase’s PostgreSQL database, MySQL, MariaDB, and SQLite on both platforms. MongoDB is currently available in the macOS app. See supported databases.

Are the Mac and Windows apps the same?

They share the core browsing, editing, and SQL workflows. The Mac app currently has more advanced tools, including charts, ER diagrams, and on-device AI. Compare platform features.

Does my database pass through plainDB’s servers?

No. The app connects from your computer to the database or SSH host you configure. Query history is saved locally. Read about data and credentials.

Can I use it with Supabase?

Yes. Use your project’s PostgreSQL connection string and database password. You don’t need an anon or service-role API key. See how the connection works.

Can I undo a change after applying it?

For supported PostgreSQL and SQLite tables, recorded grid edits can be undone while the connection stays open. plainDB keeps up to 50 applied batches and checks for conflicts before restoring rows. This doesn’t cover arbitrary SQL, imports, or schema changes. Read the undo limits.

Can I download or buy it now?

Yes. Mac and Windows trials and full-version checkout are available. The download page shows release availability, and the pricing page explains the trial and license terms.
