Which databases does plainDB support?

plainDB implements PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB and SQLite connections on both macOS and Windows. Supabase uses the PostgreSQL connection. MongoDB is implemented on both macOS and Windows.

What does Supabase support include?

plainDB connects to the PostgreSQL database inside a Supabase project. The connection preset helps configure the endpoint, port and username, including a session pooler connection. Once connected, you can inspect schemas, browse tables, filter rows and run SQL using the permissions of your database role.

It does not replace the Supabase dashboard's Auth, Storage, Realtime or Edge Functions tools. An API key is not a substitute for the database password. See the Supabase connection guide for setup.

Does support mean every feature is identical?

No. Engines have different capabilities, while Mac and Windows share the database workflows. PostgreSQL schemas, SQLite files and MongoDB collections do not share an identical workflow. CSV import and visual EXPLAIN are implemented on both platforms. AI uses Apple's model on eligible Macs and a configured local model server on Windows.

Check the feature matrix against your actual workload. This is an implementation list, not a certification of every server version or hosting configuration. No support for SQL Server, Oracle or Redis is claimed. If your daily work requires another engine, choose a client with explicit support for it.
