TablePlus downloads, platforms and free-trial questions
Download TablePlus from its official website and choose the build for your computer. Before depending on its free mode, check the current limits and licence terms against the work you need to do.
Download from the publisher
The official TablePlus download page provides its platform choices. Use the publisher’s instructions for Mac, Windows or Linux; avoid repackaged installers advertised as unlocked or permanently free. If using a package manager such as Homebrew, verify the package identity and source before installing.
Keep the installer separate from your database credentials. Downloading a client does not require uploading a production database to a third-party download site.
Check the current free and paid terms
Trial limits, licensing and platform support can change. Follow the TablePlus website to its current pricing and FAQ before deciding whether its free mode covers your workflow. Check whether the free mode covers the connections and features you use. A free download doesn’t necessarily include unrestricted use.
Test your database workflow
- Connect to an approved development database.
- Confirm the database and role identity.
- Browse a representative table and inspect its structure.
- Run a bounded query and export its results.
- Check how the client presents pending edits before saving.
Use the engine’s correct connection settings. A Redis or MongoDB connection is not interchangeable with a PostgreSQL connection merely because one application can present several database types.
Where plainDB fits
This guide is published by plainDB, an independent database client. PlainDB supports PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB and SQLite on Mac and Windows, with MongoDB on both platforms. It does not provide Linux, iOS or Redis clients. Its trial and platform limitations are shown on the download page and feature matrix.
For a workflow-based comparison, read plainDB versus TablePlus or choosing a TablePlus or DBeaver alternative. The best fit depends on your engines and daily tasks.
